Rosso di Montefalco- Il Torrione Mascherone 2011

£10.5 £8.00

A robust Sangiovese blend from a little known family winery in Umbria.

It is deep ruby red in appearance. It has a pleasant nose of ripe red plums, dried flowers, spicy pink pepper, cured tobacco, and earthy aromas. A savoury palate with robust structure and firm tannins; the warm alcohol is perfectly balanced by the fruit flavours and the acidity. It has a medium spicy and toasty finish.

The combination of acidity and toasty aromas make this wine a good pairing for smoked cured meats, and the firm and persistent tannins perfectly balance the succulence of a beef and potato stew.
